Grown-ups ask

Quick answers

Are these dinosaur coloring pages free?

Yes. Every page is a free PDF in US Letter and A4, with no email and no account, free for home and classroom use. To share them, please share the link to this page rather than the files.

What age are they for?

Ages 4 to 8. Most pictures have big, simple shapes for little hands. The two scenes, the nest and the second picture of a few dinosaurs have more small shapes, for older children or careful colorers.

Are the dinosaurs drawn right?

They are friendly cartoons, but we checked the parts that matter: two fingers on each T. rex arm, four spikes on the Stegosaurus tail, three horns on the Triceratops, the sail on the Spinosaurus. Each card links to that dinosaur's fact page if you want to know more.

Did Velociraptor have feathers?

Yes. Scientists found little bumps on a Velociraptor arm bone where feathers were attached. Our coloring page leaves them out on purpose, so your child can draw the feathers on before coloring.

Can my child color on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Pick a picture and a color, then tap a shape to fill it. You can undo, start over, save the picture on your device or print it. Nothing is saved on our side or sent anywhere.

Are these pictures from your book?

No. We made these coloring pictures for this page. The ten dinosaurs are the ten that Spike, a young Triceratops, meets in our picture book Dinosaurs Are Back, where they look much more real and climb off the page in 3D.
