Times tables with dragons
Ten dragons are locked in cages, one for each table. A cube game gets them out.
Every times table from 2 to 11 has a page here. You can hear each row said aloud, learn one trick, and then play: one level is one answer of the table.
Finish five levels and a padlock wakes up. Get its four numbers right and the dragon of that table walks out of the cage.
Around the tables is everything else we have for learning multiplication: a chart, worksheets, flash cards, a test and games. All of it is free.

Why not 2, 3, 4, 5?
Learn them in this order and half the work is gone
We start with the 10s, the 5s and the 2s, because you can SEE how they work. Then every table leans on one you already know. Double the 2s and you have the 4s, double those and you have the 8s. The 6s come from the 3s the same way.
The tables from 2 to 10 have 90 rows between them. Learned this way, only 45 answers are new. By the time you reach the 9s there is ONE left: 9 × 9.
From the book
Three things that help with every table
Swap the numbers
You can change the order of the numbers you multiply whenever that makes it easier. 8 × 6 is the same as 6 × 8, and 6 × 8 = 48 rhymes.
Learn up to the middle first
Learn each table up to the middle, that is up to 5. When you know those answers well, carry on up to 10.
Two stars in every table
From every table, learn two answers really well: the number times itself, like 3 × 3 = 9, and the middle, like 5 × 3 = 15. The rest hang from those two.
For grown-ups · the book comes out in November 2026
The book opens the other half
The first five answers of a table are the easy half, and they are free here. The book opens levels 6 to 10 of every table, gives each dragon its fire back, and lets it step into your room through a phone or tablet. It also has every trick, one page per table.
Questions
Grown-ups ask
- In what order should children learn the times tables?
- We teach them in this order: 10, 5, 2, 4, 8, 7, 3, 6, 9, 11. The 10s, 5s and 2s have clear patterns. After that each table leans on one before it: the 4s are the 2s doubled, the 8s are the 4s doubled, and the 6s are the 3s doubled. By the 9 times table only one answer is new, 9 × 9.
- How many times table facts does a child really have to learn?
- Fewer than it looks. The tables from 2 to 10 have 90 rows, but 3 × 8 and 8 × 3 are the same answer, and the 1 row is just the number itself. Learned in our order, only 45 answers are new. The table pages show the ones a child has already met in orange.
- Is the game free?
- Levels 1 to 5 of every table are free, with their padlock and their dragon. The 10 times table is free from start to end. Levels 6 to 10 of the other tables open with the book, which comes out in November 2026.
- Does it need an app or an account?
- No. It runs in the browser of a phone, tablet or computer. There is no account and there are no ads. What your child has finished is kept on your own device, and nothing about your child is sent to us.
- Can we use it in a classroom?
- Yes, freely. It works on school laptops with the arrow keys, and every child can play without signing in. Progress is kept per device, so a shared laptop shows the last child's dragons.
- Is there a 12 times table?
- Yes, on a plain page of its own: the twelve rows, one tip, and a chart, a wheel and a worksheet to print. The game and its voice cover the tables from 2 to 11, so there is no dragon for 12 yet.
