Letter to Santa
You don't need to know your letters to send one.
Draw it (3 to 4), trace it (4 to 5) or write it (6 to 8). Type your child's name once and it prints in dots, ready to trace. There's a wish list too, an envelope to fold, and Santa's real addresses.

Make a letter to Santa, or a wish list
Choose the letter or the wish list, then the level. It prints on our North Pole paper, with the three Golden Mountains along the bottom and Santa's red balloon up in the corner, just as you see it here.
For little ones who can't write yet. They trace their name and draw three wishes in the boxes.
It never leaves your device: nothing you type is sent to us or anyone else.
To keep a PDF, choose “Save as PDF” in the print window. Fold it in three, then in half, and it fits the envelope below.

How to write a letter to Santa, at every age
Ages 3 to 4
They talk, you write
Ask what they wish for and let them draw each wish in a box. A blob with wheels is a bike, and Santa knows it. Write their words small beside each drawing so the elves can read it too, then they trace their name.
Ages 4 to 5
They trace, you help
They go over "Dear Santa", their name and "I wish for" in dots. Type a wish or two in the maker and those print in dots too. Three traced words is HARD work at four, so a break between them is fine.
Ages 6 to 8
They write, you spell
The prompts do the asking: a kind thing they did, three wishes, one for someone else, a question for Santa. Help with spelling only when they ask. Santa has read every spelling of "trampoline" there is.
Whatever the age, keep the line with a wish for someone else. Children often think harder about that one than about their whole list, and it's usually the one the grown-ups keep.
Where to send it
Santa's address
Four post offices answer children's letters to Santa: in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and New Zealand. Here's each address as it goes on the envelope, the last day to post it, and what happens to the letter next.

USPS Operation Santa
Santa123 Elf RoadNorth Pole, 88888Post by December 5, 2026
Here the letters go up on the USPS Operation Santa website with the personal details taken out, and from November 16 people sign up to adopt one and send a present, as if from Santa. There's no promise every letter gets picked.
It needs a First-Class stamp, plus the writer's first and last name and return address, on the envelope and in the letter too. The postmark has to say December 5 or earlier.
Canada
Canada Post
Santa ClausNorth PoleH0H 0H0CanadaPost by December 9, 2026
Canada Post's elves have helped Santa with his mail for more than 40 years, over a million letters a year, and Santa answers every letter he receives. They can't promise a delivery date, so the sooner the better.
In Canada you don't need a stamp: add your return address and drop it in any mailbox. All of one family's letters go in one envelope. From anywhere else in the world, add postage to Canada and Santa pays for the reply, in the language you wrote in.

Santa says he'll reply to as many children as he can. Write his address carefully, put a REAL stamp on (Mrs. Claus loves stamps, apparently), and your full name and address on the back of the envelope.
For a reply in Welsh, write to Sion Corn, Ogof Sion Corn, Gwlad Y Ceirw, XM4 5HQ. Braille, large print and BSL replies can be arranged by emailing santamail@royalmail.com.

No stamp needed: post it in any post box or NZ Post shop, with your name and address written clearly on the back of the envelope, so Santa knows where to send the reply.
NZ Post hasn't put out its 2026 posting date yet, so post it early.
All four are on one address card to print, with an envelope to fold. In Australia, Australia Post's Santa Mail comes back on November 11, 2026. Its address and dates aren't out yet. Anywhere else, Canada Post takes your letter with postage to Canada, or you can leave it out on Christmas Eve next to the cookies, where Santa looks anyway. And a letter left out for Santa can get an answer by Christmas morning.

Questions
Grown-ups ask
How do I write a letter to Santa with a child who can't write yet?
You hold the pencil and they do the wishing. Pick the "Draw it" letter: the wishes go in the boxes as drawings, you add their words beside each one, and the name you type in the maker prints in dots for them to trace. The tips for each age are on this page, under the maker.
What is Santa's address?
It depends on where you live. United States: Santa, 123 Elf Road, North Pole, 88888 (USPS Operation Santa). Canada: Santa Claus, North Pole, H0H 0H0, Canada (Canada Post). United Kingdom: Santa/Father Christmas, Santa's Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ (Royal Mail). New Zealand: Santa Claus, C/- Santa's Workshop, North Pole 0001 (NZ Post). From anywhere else, Canada Post takes letters too, with postage to Canada.
When should we send a letter to Santa?
Early, if you'd like a reply. For 2026 the last days are December 5 for USPS Operation Santa (by postmark), December 9 for Canada Post and December 9 for Royal Mail. NZ Post hasn't published its 2026 date yet. A letter that stays at home can wait until Christmas Eve. How far away is that? Count the sleeps together.
Will Santa write back?
Canada Post says Santa answers every letter he receives, Royal Mail says he replies to as many children as he can, and NZ Post sends the reply to the address on the back of the envelope. In the United States, USPS Operation Santa works differently: letters are shared online without personal details, and people choose one to answer, often with a present. And if your letter stays at home, Santa's reply can too: plenty of families write it themselves on North Pole paper.
What should a child write in a letter to Santa?
Their name and age, something kind they did this year, what they wish for, a wish for someone else, and a question for Santa (children ALWAYS have one). Three wishes is plenty, and it leaves room for a surprise.
What do we do with the letter on Christmas Eve?
If you didn't post it, leave it out with the cookies, or tuck it in a stocking or on the windowsill where Santa will see it on his way past. Take a photo first, or print a second copy for the memory box. In ten years, the spelling alone will be worth it.
Is anything I type in the maker sent anywhere?
No. The letter is drawn in your browser. Your child's name is kept on your own device only, so the other Christmas makers can use it, and the Clear button removes it. Wishes are not kept at all. Nothing you type is sent to us or to anyone else; when you print, we count only that a letter was printed and which level it was.
